I wanted to take the time to thank you again for being my sponsor with the heifer I have purchased. I know that my letter is a little late but I still want to take the time to get to know each of you and hope you take the time to get to know me. My name is Becky L. Magee. I am from Midway ISD, which is a small 1-A school located in Clay County, Texas. I am sixteen but will soon be turning seventeen this month. I am very excited about showing a heifer this year because it will be a new experience that I am looking forward to trying my hardest at. Lately, I have been building a pen for my heifer and can't wait to get it finished. I am going to tell you a little more info. about myself. I am a very active basketball player and cross country runner. I have grown up around ranching and sports all of my life. At this time I don't have any pictures of my heifer, but I am going to try to get you all some to see what she looks like. I just wanted to say thank you again and I hope to get an e-mail or letter from ya'll soon."

Dear L.I.P.S. Ladies,

My family and I want to take this opporutunity to say thank-you for purchasing our sons pig (Jordan Vogel). This was his first year to show in Houston and he had a great time. It was only our second year to show at Houston with our older son. Just three days before we left for Brenham, our older sons pig died. This was very emotional for the family. But in the end we had a wonderful time and meet great people like yourselves. Jordan has told everyone about the organization that purchased his pig. Jordan will stay in touch and keep you updated on his livestock projects. Again, thank you for your support and help.

2009 LIPS NEWS

City Council Member Toni Lawrence presented a proclamation to Mayor Bill White declaring Tuesday, June 2 as "LIPS day" in recognition for all LIPS does for the youth of the city of Houston, as well as surrounding Texas communities. Council Member Lawrence is also a LIPS member and was joine by 12 other LIPS members for the proclamation.

LIPS Crawfish Boil raised over $14,000.
LIPS raised over $64,000 at the Annual Fundraiser

The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo™ celebrated the Show’s 75th anniversary with Boot Scoot 2007, which featured 85 six-foot high cowboy boots that were transformed into works of art and were displayed all over the city of Houston.
