Supporting Texas Youth & Education

2017 marked the 25th Anniversary of Ladies Purchasing Stock, known to all as LIPS.  

Established in 1992 and attending their first auction in 1993,  LIPS made their first purchase at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Swine Auction.  Since then LIPS has been supporting the youth of Texas in their educational, agricultural, and artistic endeavors. 

Since its inception, LIPS has raised almost $3 million through yearly fundraising events.  Because of these outstanding efforts, LIPS is proud to be one of the original members, and the first buyers group, to reach the $1 million mark of the HLS&R™ Silver Spur Club.  

In honor of Sharon Campbell and Sharon Langford Simmons, and the 25th Anniversary of Ladies Into Purchasing Stock, Lot 25 was purchased at the 2017 Swine Auction. These two ladies had a dream, 25 years ago, and made that dream a reality. In the process, during that 25 years, lives were changed and friendships were made. It has been said that you should put people in your life that makes you a better person and that make a difference. Thanks to these ladies and because of them, we are better, stronger and we have made a difference. For the friendships and the dream we now all share, we, the members of LIPS, are forever grateful.
